Lakewood Ranch’s River Club

Overview:

River Club encompasses over 1,000 acres with the Braden River transecting through the middle of the property. River Club is a State, Region and County approved "Development of Regional Impact" (DRI). Development is stringently governed to protect the natural environment and water quality. The required institution of preservation areas for wildlife habitat and monitoring of wildlife, water quality and created wetlands helps to create an environmentally sensitive and controlled development for all to enjoy in years to come.

Aside from being an environmentally friendly neighborhood, River Club is also designated a Golfing Community. Golf carts can be used on all roads, except for the main thoroughfare, River Club Boulevard where golf cart paths are used. Rated as a 4-star facility by Golf Digest Places to Play, The River Club was also honored as the 14th best golf course in Florida by Florida Sports Magazine in 1997. When it was built in 1989, it was rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 10 new courses in the country. This Ron Garl course is famous for its unique moundings and positioning of grass and pot bunkers. The front nine are open with all elevated greens. The back nine are cut into the woods. There is water on 16 holes. This is a must-play course! After playing, enjoy dining at the Clubhouse overlooking the putting green.

River Club is located approximately 1.5 miles east of I-75 on SR. 70 Exit 213E or off of University Parkway Exit 217E. River Club is convenient to area beaches, airports and is a short commute to all of the attractions within the Tampa Bay region.
